Winchester Bay!
Greetings, family and friends, from beautiful Winchester Bay, Oregon. Today is Sunday, September 29, 2024.... Above is a picture of Jan and me enjoying the ocean view from our new home for the winter at the Umpqua River Lighthouse here in Winchester Bay. My humans have accepted volunteer positions at the lighthouse and museum--giving tours of the lighthouse, assisting guests at the museum, etc. Most importantly, we are just a couple of miles from Jan's parents, so we get to spend the winter near those humans that they love (and that even I am starting to warm up to). The lighthouse.... Before coming to our new home, we spent a few days at Champoeg State Heritage Area, an absolutely beautiful state park south of Portland. While there, Jan and Mark relaxed and took me for walks.... Visited the historical displays in the old pioneer town (including ice cream at the market founded in the 1880s)....
