Columbia River
Greetings, family and friends, from Boardman, Oregon on the Columbia River. Today is Friday, September 6, 2024.
It's been a quiet week for the humans and me. We've enjoyed being settled in at two serene campgrounds right on the river, with beautiful weather and plenty of green grass for me to nibble on--until Jan yells at me to stop.
Mark and Jan went on a couple of minor adventures, leaving me quiet time to nap. They toured the B Reactor at the Hanford Nuclear Site, the world's first full scale nuclear production reactor, which provided the plutonium for the atomic bombs that were dropped on Japan to end World War II....
They also took an evening to watch some auto racing at the local small-town race track....
The quiet week has been really good for us, as we all needed some downtime.
We will move along Sunday to the Portland area, staying at an Oregon state park and then a Harvest Host farm. I'll be back to you next weekend from there....
