Dam....

Greetings, family and friends, from Laughlin, Nevada.  Today is Saturday, March 30, 2024.

We arrived in Laughlin Thursday after leaving Las Vegas and then spending four days at Boulder Beach in the Lake Mead National Recreation area....

Before leaving Las Vegas Sunday, my humans visited the Fremont Street area....

....and Mark enjoyed a Detroit-style "Coney Island" hot dog from American Coney Island at The D Casino.  As the human kids say, IYKYK....

That looks questionable to me, but Mark loved it.  Jan was unable to enjoy any.

Most of the week was spent at Lake Mead, recuperating from the nonstop activity in Las Vegas.  It was good to be in the quiet of the desert.

While at Lake Mead, Mark and Jan toured Hoover Dam....

....and later hiked a trail that held the railway line bringing supplies up to the dam as they built it.  The trail included five tunnels trough solid rock 30 feet high and 300 feet long.  They also visited Historic Downtown Boulder City, and learned about the building of the dam at the historical museum.  It was apparently very interesting for humans....

We're settled in at Laughlin for ten days, as we all quite like it here and decided to extend our stay.  We've got a site overlooking the city, the weather is great, and there is room for me to roam (on my leash, of course)....

My only concern here is the dog next door.  There is something about him that makes me think I need to keep an eye on him, so I spend much of the day (when not napping) on guard, watching out the window.

I'll be back to you all next weekend with a report on our Adventures in Laughlin, and with an update on what the neighbor dog has been up to....
