Buddy

Greetings again, family and friends, from Laughlin, Nevada.  Today is Friday, April 5, 2024.

It's been a quiet week here in Laughlin....

We've been settled in at an rv park that is part of a resort/casino property, on a hill and with a great view of the city....

Mark and Jan have had access to the resort's facilities, and spent a couple of afternoons at the pool (above).  "Pets" are apparently not allowed at the pool, and they seem to think I am a "pet,"  so didn't invite me.  I think of them as my emotional support humans and support staff, so they must be confused about our relationship.  Either way, I had no desire to go to the pool--I've heard that there are sometimes noisy human children there.  Who needs that?

The humans went on a couple of hikes, including to Davis Dam....

....and Lake Mojave....

While they've been gone, I've spent a good part of my week keeping an eye on "Buddy," the dog next door....

"Buddy" is no buddy of mine.  He's wandered into our space and walked across our mat, left a chew toy near our electric post, and went into the street, causing his human to yell at him.  I'm concerned that he may have drooled on something of ours.  I've snarled at him through our window, but don't know whether that taught him his lesson.  I'll continue to protect our home, but he's somebody else's problem once we leave Sunday.

We will have been here ten great days by the time we move on.  The plan from here is to spend nine days in the Lake Havasu area, split between two Arizona state parks along the Colorado river.

I'll be back to you next weekend from somewhere near Lake Havasu.  In the meantime, keep an eye out for "Buddy."  He's trouble....
