Lake Havasu

Greetings, family and friends, from Lake Havasu in Arizona.  Today is Saturday,  April 13, 2024.

I'm exhausted....

After ten days of keeping track of Buddy, our "neighbor" dog at Laughlin, we moved last Sunday to River Island State Park, on the Colorado River just south of Lake Havasu.  Of course, our campsite there was directly across from the "dog park" (why are there no cat parks?), so there was a constant parade of dogs and their humans passing by Emma Jean, our home on wheels.  I spent the three days there protecting our property from inside the camper, and did a great job, as none of the dogs bothered us.  I chose not to spend as much time outside as I normally do (always on a leash with the humans, of course), as I didn't want the dogs to be too frightened of me.  I earned my keep this week.

My humans hiked each day, including a climb up the cliff overlooking our campground.  Here's a picture of Jan overlooking the campground from the top with Emma Jean circled, and a picture of the cliff with the bench on top where Jan was sitting.  You can see the dog park across the road in the first picture.

After posting last Saturday, and before leaving Laughlin, Mark and Jan went to our casino/resort's pool to watch an "air show" taking place across the river in Bullhead City....

After Laughlin, we spent three days at River Island, then moved along to an Arizona state campground on Lake Havasu....

Of course, a couple of hikes were in order for the humans (not sure why they do that)....

The humans went into Lake Havasu City to "play tourist" one day, including a trip to London Bridge. They learned about its history, how it was transported from London, England to the Arizona desert, etc.....

  

We will be here at Lake Havasu until Monday, then will take two days to travel across Arizona to a state park outside of Tucson. We will be in the Tucson area for two weeks, and I will reach back to you from there next weekend.

Until then, I've found the exact spot on my bed where the "air conditioner vent" blows cold air, and plan to spend most of the week there....
