Moseying through Montana
Greetings, family and friends, from Missoula, Montana. Today is Friday, July 19, 2024.
First, some good news. Mark now has a pair of dedicated "dump station shoes," which he keeps in the bed of Gene, our truck. Jan and I both appreciate this.
We've been traveling nearly every day this week as we head north out of the heat (much better weather this week) and toward Canada. Because we average, by choice, about 100 miles per day, we've "only" moved through Idaho and about half of Montana this week. My humans have chosen to move slowly and enjoy the journey. I'm glad that we're in the truck, at most, only a couple of hours per day.
We stopped at Massacre Rocks State Park, along the Snake River....
The campground was on the "Oregon Trail," and my humans went to see wagon ruts left from those times, as well as Register Rock, upon which emigrants carved their names and the year they passed through....
We stayed one night at a nice little county park, and Jan and I took a walk on the disc golf course. Again with the "fairways"....
We stayed one night each at a few RV Parks as we worked our way north....
I'll be back to you next weekend from just outside Glacier National Park....
