Northwest Montana
Greetings, family and friends, from Hungry Horse, Montana, just outside Glacier National Park. Today is Friday, July 26, 2024.
It's been a busy week for my humans and me, and we've been to some beautiful places and seen some great sights....
We spent a couple of days at a Harvest Host destination wedding facility/cattle ranch in Ronan, Montana. The property was brimming with wildlife, including deer, horses, and birds of all types. I'd never seen deer before, and found them quite interesting....
Jan and Mark took a day to drive around/explore Flathead Lake, the largest natural body of freshwater (by surface area) west of the Mississippi River and, apparently, one of the cleanest lakes in the world....
In Columbia Falls, we settled into a beautiful wooded site....
My humans visited the town of Whitefish, Montana....
....and Whitefish Lake....
Before leaving Missoula last weekend, Jan and Mark visited downtown, stopped for lunch and a beverage, then waited in line at a popular ice cream stand. They say the ice cream was worth the wait....
We arrived at Hungry Horse today, and will be here for five days. I like it already, as we are in a large grove of pine trees with, I'm sure, plenty of woodland creatures to keep me entertained. Mark and Jan plan to spend a couple of days at the national park, so I'll also have plenty of uninterrupted nap time.
After our time here, we will cross the "border" into "Canada" next Wednesday. It sounds like a very mysterious land, full of "poutine."
