Banff
Greetings, family and friends, from Spokane Valley, Washington, United States of America. Today is Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
Where to begin? It's been more than three weeks since I last posted in length. Since then, we spent 19 days in Canada, including nine in Banff National Park. The scenery has been great, the weather has been interesting, and we've all been amazed.
I'll start with the wildlife, as I've had my paws full keeping my humans protected from the animals that live in the wild here....
Our home in Banff sat on top of a network of some sort of rodents (ground squirrels, the humans think), so I was constantly chasing them out of our space (even though they lived there before we arrived and after we left). Mark sometimes helped me watch for them from inside Emma Jean....
The wildlife we saw here was varied, including all types of mammals, birds, insects (Mark is especially tasty to mosquitoes, apparently), etc. Mark and Jan even saw at least one bear and possibly "Sasquatch." We never did see any "poutine." Maybe I'm confused?
My humans made a couple of visits to the town of Banff....
They visited Lake Louise....
....and drove to the Columbia Icefields
It was an excellent, busy 19 days in Canada, with many more highlights than can be shown here. I may provide more pictures on my next post....
We're all glad to be back home in "The States."
We are in the middle of seven days here in Spokane Valley, with the humans planning to visit both the Spokane area and the Couer d'Alene, Idaho area. From here, we will travel through eastern Washington, then follow the Columbia River gorge toward Portland. I'll be back to you the weekend of August 31 from somewhere along the Columbia River gorge in eastern Oregon....
