Greetings, family and friends, from the north bank of the Columbia River in eastern Washington state. Today is Thursday, August 29, 2024.
I last reached out to you from Spokane Valley, Washington, where we had just arrived to spend a week. Taking advantage of being in an urban area, Mark and Jan spent the first half of the week catching up on necessary projects--truck maintenance, changing the sand in my cat box, buying more cat food, cleaning and maintaining our home, trimming my nails, cleaning my water bowl, going grocery shopping (including to Costco to buy more litter), and washing my sleeping blanket (and the humans' laundry).
After taking care of our needs (my humans are very needy), they enjoyed a great dinner out with Jan's cousin living in the area.
They visited the Spokane Riverfront (find Jan)....
....and downtown Coeur d'Alene, including music at the park....
We then moved along to a Corps of Engineers campground on the Snake River, where I stayed busy watching the geese and seagulls. Jan and Mark enjoyed watching the adult geese teach the baby geese to stick their rears into the air (seems to me a silly thing to do), but protecting Emma Jean from these creatures was all business for me.
After three days at that beautiful park, we moved along to our current location, and will settle in here for a week....
I'll be back to you next weekend from a little further west on the Columbia River as we work our way toward Portland....
